NEIGHBORHOODS IN HONG KONG
Wanchai (pictured above) is a dense commercial are located on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island. During the day, Wanchai market is a bustling "wet market" where many locals buy fresh produce and meats. Wanchai is also home to plenty of office buildings, hotels, and street-side shops. At night, Wanchai turns into a vibrant bar district with Hong Kong's classic neon lights illuminating the streets.
Causeway Bay (pictured above) is an extremely popular shopping and dining neighborhood in Hong Kong. Growing up in Hong Kong, Causeway Bay was always to go to spot to hang out with friends and grab a meal. From cheap road-side eats to high end restaurants, Causeway Bay offers an international array of cuisines to satisfy every craving.
Happy Valley (pictured above) is home to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Racecourse. Going to the racecourse for drinks and betting on horses is a classic Wednesday night routine in Hong Kong. Situated within the racecourse are 8 soccer fields, which is where I have been playing competitive soccer for the last 9 years.
Victoria Peak (where the image above was taken) is the highest hill on Hong Kong island with the best views of the city. Victoria Peak, locally known as The Peak, is known as one of the most expensive residential locations in the world. The galleria at the top provides a multitude of dining options with a 360 view of the city.
Repulse Bay (pictured above) is a neighborhood located on the southern shore of Hong Kong island. It is a popular residential area for expatriates in Hong Kong. Repulse Bay beach is one of the most popular beaches on the island, with a beachfront shopping arcarde located right behind it. Repulse Bay is home to the elementary school I attended.
